Axis at the 24h of Le Mans 2019

Axis is used to produce many prototypes in connection with the automotive industry so it is natural that the company specializing in 3D printing has decided to sponsor a vehicle on the 24h of Le Mans.

This year Axis is sponsoring car 23 of Team Panis-Barthez. This team created in 2016 by Oliver Panis (former F1 driver) and Fabien Barthez (former footballer) participates for the 3rd consecutive year in this internationally known competition.

The three drivers of the Panis-Barthez team, Timothé Buret, Julien Canal and Will Stevens, will compete on June 15 and 16 with a Ligier JS P217 vehicle in operation since 2017.

For several years, Axis has been producing prototypes in Multi Jet Fusion HP, glass-filled Selective laser sintering as well as transparent or tinted Clearvue Stereolithography for various car manufacturers.

It is for this reason that Axis wanted to sponsor a team on this competition. Our company has some know-how on the production of automotive prototypes and regularly participates in projects that allow to develop a beta version of vehicles that will then be produced on a large scale.

Selective laser sintering is often chosen for its technical capabilities.

Indeed, this material allows 3D printing of parts requiring a high mechanical resistance while other materials such as Clearvue Stereolithography are rather favored for their aesthetics since once finished, parts such as headlights, are similar to parts series.

Please do not hesitate to contact Axis if you want to turn your 3D print files into reality. Our specialized team will guide you to produce prototypes according to your criteria and your desires.
